The Kansas City Chiefs are signing Irv Smith Jr. to a one year deal after a one year stint in Cincinnati. Smith Jr. played 12 games for the Bengals in 2023 earning just 26 targets that only turned into 18 receptions for 115 yards and 1 touchdown. Smith Jr was brought into Cincinnati to become their #1 tight end, that never panned out as he couldn’t surpass Drew Sample on the depth chart and ultimately was surpassed himself, by Tanner Hudson in week 14, becoming the 3rd option in the Bengals tight end room.
