The Arizona Cardinals have traded former first round pick, Isaiah Simmons, to the New York Giants for a 7th round pick.
The Cardinals are giving up on their 2020 first round pick, sending him to New York for a 7th round pick. A once-promising linebacker, it has never seemed to work out for Simmons in Arizona, who found it difficult to find footing on the field. What Simmons leaves behind in AZ is arguably one of the worst defensive groups in the league. Stepping in to replace Simmons is either rookie 2nd rounder BJ Ojulari or journeyman Antonio Hamilton Sr.
For New York, they have a former first-round talent in search of a fresh start. Depth for their linebacking group and should make for an interesting project for DC Wink Martindale. Martindale loves to blitz, and Simmons graded well in pass rush. Seems like a perfect fit for both and little to no risk for the Giants.
