Jayden Daniels ADP is Falling on Underdog
1 month ago

Jayden Daniels has fallen to QB-4 with Jalen Hurts taking the QB-3 spot on Underdog.

Jayden Daniels is the 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year while Jalen Hurts is the Super Bowl 59 MVP. In dynasty fantasy football rankings, Daniels has usurped Jalen Hurts into territory just behind Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson.

Currently, Underdog average draft position is telling a different story. Since January 27th, Jayden Daniels has fallen from QB-3 to QB-4 by 6.4 spots. Daniels has gone from an ADP of 32.2 in round 3 down to pick 38.6 in round 4. Jalen Hurts is just ahead of him at pick 38.1.

Recency bias is likely a factor as Jalen Hurts just won the Super Bowl. Hurts has also shown year over year fantasy reliability which factors into public sentiment. While Jayden Daniels has conquered plenty and come away with impressive feats, he will still have to avoid a sophomore slump. Take advantage of any dip that presents for Jayden Daniels.

Jayden Daniels: One-Hit Wonder or Next Fantasy QB1?

Jayden Daniels’ Historic Rookie Season: One-Hit Wonder or the Next Fantasy QB1?

Jayden Daniels capped off a historic rookie season by taking home the 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year award, following a standout campaign with the Washington Commanders. In 17 games, Daniels threw for 3,530 yards, 25 touchdowns, and just 9 interceptions while completing 69.4% of his passes. His dual-threat abilities were on full display as he rushed for 864 yards and 6 touchdowns, finishing near the top of the league in rushing yards per attempt. Daniels’ poise and playmaking ability in clutch moments—like four game-winning drives and five touchdown passes in the final 30 seconds of games—cemented his status as one of the most exciting young quarterbacks in the NFL.

Heading into 2025, Daniels has firmly established himself as a top-tier fantasy quarterback. His combination of passing yards and rushing upside places him among the elite, with his ability to rack up fantasy points both through the air and on the ground. After finishing as QB3 in fantasy in his rookie season, he’s poised for even more in Year 2, with the potential for higher passing volume and continued growth as a dual-threat playmaker. Dynasty gamers should consider Daniels a cornerstone for their teams, as it would take a significant haul to acquire him. With his ceiling as high as any quarterback in the league, Daniels is shaping up to be a fantasy star for years to come.

Terry McLaurin Ends His 2024 Campaign in Defeat
1 month ago

Despite a bitter loss in the NFC Championship, Terry McLaurin has plenty to be optimistic about heading into 2025.

Terry McLaurin had a career year in 2024. He was the WR-4 in fantasy football. For the duration of McLaurin’s career up to this season, it had been a quarterback carousel that negatively affected and capped McLaurin’s upside in fantasy football.

McLaurin had 3 receptions, 51 yards receiving, and a 36-yard touchdown in a 55-23 blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. There were many great memories in 2024 and the strike from Jayden Daniels to Terry McLaurin was one last highlight to build off heading into the 2025 season.

The Commanders will certainly add depth at the receiver position this offseason which will help take pressure off of him. McLaurin is 29 and is the perfect buy in dynasty leagues from anyone who may have age concerns. A perfect trade outcome could come in the form of McLaurin managers who are rebuilding to make a deal with teams who are in win now mode.

Jayden Daniels Magical Rookie Campaign Comes to an End
1 month ago

The Commanders lose 55-23 in a blowout against their division rival Philadelphia Eagles.

The Washington Commanders season comes to an end as they fall to the Philadelphia Eagles 55-23 in the NFC Championship game. While the Eagles are going to their second Super Bowl in 3 years, the Commanders are a franchise with its arrow pointing up.

A huge reason for the Commanders turnaround is franchise quarterback Jayden Daniels. Daniels has been a supreme talent and was the QB-3 for fantasy in his rookie season. Daniels was 9th in passing yards with 4,135 and 8th in passing touchdowns with 29. His 978 rushing yards were No.2 for quarterbacks. Daniels would most likely have hit the 1,000 yard rushing mark had he not gotten hurt and left early due to injury in week 7 versus the Carolina Panthers.

Heading into the offseason, expect the Commanders to be aggressive in free agency and the NFL draft to acquire more pass-catching weapons as well as add support to their backfield in what is presenting to be a deep rookie running back class. Jayden Daniels has now catapulted himself into the startup 1.01 conversation in superflex dynasty leagues and will be a highly coveted fantasy asset heading into 2025.

Dynasty Riser: Jayden Daniels

Jayden Daniels is the top riser in PlayerProfiler’s Dynasty Deluxe lifetime value rating for the end of January.

No surprise here. As the NFL has dwindled down to four remaining teams in play, one player has earned a majority of the headlines and has the opportunity to be the first rookie Quarterback in NFL history to lead his team to a Super Bowl. Daniels has strung together back-to-back 22+ fantasy point performances in the playoffs, completing nearly 70% of his passes without committing any turnovers. Daniels has proven he can perform at the highest stages and will be a fixture in the NFL for years to come.

One unique element to Daniels ascension into NFL stardom is his commitment to training. Daniels is at the forefront of leveraging virtual reality (VR) to up his game, running through scenarios he’s likely to face against opposing defenses at 1.75x speed. It’s no wonder the game has never looked too fast for Daniels, even in his rookie year.

Daniels has a chance to cement himself as the best rookie Quarterback in NFL history over the next couple of weeks. That possibility alone means his fantasy value has an opportunity to even further ascend. Don’t be afraid to pay a kings ransom for Daniels before he potentially become the consensus 1.01 in Superflex startups going forward.

Jalen's Passing Game Hurts Right Now

With nary a challenge from their first two playoff opponents, expect Jalen Hurts to have to pass more going up against Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders.

The Philadelphia Eagles have coasted in the first 2 rounds of the NFC playoffs with victories over the Packers and the Rams. The tenor of both games have had the feeling of an easy Eagles victory, however the scoreboard has been too close for comfort, making the Eagles ripe for an upset.

Jalen Hurts has thrown for less than 200 yards in 5 out of the last 6 games. On Sunday, Hurts threw for 0 touchdowns and managed only 128 passing yards on 15 completions. Hurts also took 7 sacks, one of which resulted in a safety.

Much is being made of Jalen Hurts lack of pocket awareness. His 2 primary receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith had a combined 6 catches for 35 yards and 0 touchdowns. In the event Jayden Daniels and the Commanders push tempo and get a lead early, it will be the ultimate test of Jalen Hurts as he has coasted primarily through the run game between he and stud running back Saquon Barkley.
