Jayshon Jackson joined Cincinnati as a member of their 2018 recruiting class. As a freshman, Jackson played in 11 games and finished fifth on the team in receptions (23) and fourth in receiving yards (278). The following season in 2019, Jackson fell further down the receiving pecking order and finished with a 17-171-0 stat line in 11 games. In his final season at Cincinnati, Jackson finished second on the team in receiving yards with 337 yards.
Seeking more opportunites, Jackson transferred to Ball State in 2021. He led the team in both receptions (69) and receiving yards (829) in 13 games played. In his final collegiate season, Jackson put up 73 receptions for 823 receiving yards, which again led Ball State. Jackson finished top-5 in the MAC in both 2021 and 2022 in receptions.
