The 6-7 233 pound Josh Whyle is from Cincinnati, Ohio and committed to the CIncinnati Bearcats as a member of their 2018 recruiting class. In 2021, he made eight starts and played in all 14 games. He earned All-AAC Honorable Mention honors that season. Whyle caught 26 passes for 332 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 2021.
In 2022, Whyle played in 12 games, caught 32 passes for 326 yards and scored three touchdowns. Whyle played in all five years in which he attended the University of Cincinnati.
