Kayshon Boutte was ranked right outside the top-50 on the ESPN 300 list coming out of high school and joined an LSU team that just lost Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson. As a true freshmen, he immediately emerged as a major contributor barely topping Terrace Marshall for the team lead in receiving yards (735), while playing three more games.
An ankle injury cut Boutte's 2021 season short to six games. Despite this, he still led LSU in receiving (509 yards) and receiving touchdowns (9). Expectations were high for Boutte entering 2022, but his 48-538-2 stat line in 11 games felt underwhelming as Malik Nabers emerged as LSU's No. 1 wide receiver (72-1017-3) in Brian Kelly's first season as LSU's head coach.
