Mike Sainristil

The Commanders have reason to be optimistic after a successful first string of draft picks in the 2024 NFL Draft. Washington chose to move down and ended up selecting their nickel back of the future in Mike Sainristil. His small frame will keep him from lining up on the perimeter, but Sainristil has the tools to be a high-level slot-corner in the NFL.

Many analysts had him as the best nickel cornerback in the draft, so this is an outstanding selection by the Commanders and fills an important need. Cornerback is a complicated position to judge in IDP fantasy football leagues though simply because the best cornerbacks tend to not have many counting stats. With a small frame as well, Sainristill is projected to be a much better NFL player than fantasy asset.
