Quentin Johnston was a four-star signee of TCU as a member of their 2020 recruiting class. He holds the mark for being Gary Patterson's second-highest rated recruit in more than two decades of Patterson's tenure as head coach. Johnston led TCU in receiving (487 yards) in 2020 as a true freshman, averaging 22.1 yards per reception.
The following season, Johnston again led the team in receiving, this time with 634 yards, while scoring six touchdowns. He was named to the First-Team All-Big 12 after that season. The 2022 Horned Frogs made it all the way to the National Championship Game thanks to Johnston's heroics. His receiving line was 60-1069-6 that season, and for a second-consecutive season, Johnston was named to the First-Team All-Big 12 team. His 30-game TCU career saw him finish with 115 receptions, 2190 yards, and 14 touchdowns, while averaging an impressive 19.0 yards per catch. The Chargers selected Johnston in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He will work on the outside and rotate with All-Pro receivers Mike Williams and Keenan Allen. Johnston will have every opportunity to prove he was worth the 1st round selection playing with Justin Herbert and the high-powered Chargers offense in 2023.
