The Philadelphia Eagles draft cornerback Quinyon Mitchell with the 22nd pick in the 2024 NFL Draft
Quinyon Mitchell was a three-year starter for the Toledo Rockets. Mitchell earned All-American and All-Conference honors his Junior and Senior seasons while setting the school record for career pass break-ups with 46. He has excellent size and speed for the cornerback position. He checked in at 6 feet and 195 pounds, while running for a 4.33 second 40 yard dash. Those numbers put him in the 97th percentile for Speed Score.
Quinyon Mitchell is the first defensive back taken in the 2024 NFL Draft. He lands in a excellent spot to learn and play with some great teammates around him. Veteran cornerbacks Darius Slay and James Bradberry have a heap full of experience to share with Mitchell. The defensive line for the Eagles along with Mitchell’s speed will help make any transition from small school Toledo to the NFL will be negligible.
