SaRoderick Thompson is a running back for Texas Tech who joined the Red Raiders as a 3-star recruit in 2018. Thompson would pick up 115 yards and 3 TDs in four games as a True Freshman before redshirting. He'd return to lead Texas Tech with 765 rushing yards and 12 TDs, adding 154 yards on an impressive 39 receptions, receiving Honorable Mention All-Big-12 recognition for his efforts. Thompson would lead the Red Raiders in rushing again in 2020, starting all 10 games while picking up 634 yards from scrimmage and 8 TDs.
After missing the first two games of 2021, SaRoderick Thompson would return to form a two-back committee alongside Tahj Brooks. Thompson would start 6 of his 11 games, leading the team with 10 rushing scores and finishing second on the team with 500 rushing yards. Thompson would play in all 13 games during his final season making 6 starts. Brooks would lead the team in rushing by only 7 yards, while SaRoderick would score 8 TDs and catch 23 passes on his way to a 803 yard season. He'd be named to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl after the season and became a late addition to the Senior Bowl due to injury.
