Sean Tucker was rated a 3-star recruit out of Owings Mills, Maryland. He received multiple offers, but committed to Syracuse. Tucker was noted as having exceptional athleticism because he ran track and played on both sides of the ball in high school. Tucker arrived on campus as a backup, but the chaos of the Covid season provided him an opportunity to seize the starting role. Tucker had 137 carries for 626 yards and added another 113 yards from receptions. The starting job was Sean Tucker's now. He followed up his exception freshman season with over 1,400 rushing yards and 250 receiving yards. In his final season, Tucker's rushing production dropped from his previous year's highs to just over 1,000. He replicated his receiving production with another 254 yards.
