Chiefs All-Pro nickelback Trent McDuffie will have a big assignment by covering 49ers star wide receiver Deebo Samuel in the Superbowl.
McDuffie had a great regular season, recording 80 tackles, 7 blocked passes, 5 forced fumbles, and 9 quarterback hits. Deebo Samuel, who looked good playing hurt in the NFC Championship game, catching 8 passes for 89 yards will be looked upon often in this game. With extra attention needing to contain Christian McCaffrey, the Chiefs cornerbacks will be relied upon to cover the 49ers wideouts in one on one coverage for most of the day. The battle between McDuffie and Samuel will certainly be one to keep a close eye as the game progresses.
