Trey Benson is a running back who played college football for the Florida State Seminoles before declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft. Benson attended high school in Mississippi where he was a standout and committed to play for the Oregon Ducks upon graduating. Prior to his freshman campaign he tore his ACL though resulting in him missing the entire 2020 season. Upon his return Benson had a minimal role the following season before transferring to Florida State in 2022.
While he initially joined a timeshare with the Seminoles, Benson quickly assumed the lead role accumulating over 2100 all-purpose yards and 24 touchdowns over two seasons. This resulted in two Second Team All-ACC finishes as Benson helped lead Florida State to a near perfect season in 2023. He ultimately decided to forgo his final year of eligibility and declare for the 2024 NFL Draft.
Benson was already a highly regarded prospect, but his NFL Combine performance may have put him over the top. He finished with a 4.39 40 yard dash and his speed score ranked in the 98th-percentile. Benson is extremely athletic and given his college resume should hear his name called on day two of the NFL Draft.
