Xavier Hutchinson was a consensus Top-10 Junior College Wide Receiver recruit just three years ago agte finishing with 58 receptions and 95 yards in two seasons. Hutchinson had offers from Oklahoma, Nebraska and Syracuse, but chose Iowa State instead. Iowa State was the right pick it seems, as Hutch won the Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year award afer pacing the Cyclones with 64 receptions and 771 yards as a Junior.
Over his final two seasons at Iowa State, Hutchinson was named First Team All-Big 12 in both 2021 and 2022, as well as AP First Team All-American in 2022. Finishing with eleven games over 100 yards receiving and 7+ receptions in 20 of 25 games and 2,158 total receiving yards in that span. Bottom line is that Hutchinson was dominant and a focal point for Iowa State over the last tree seasons.
