Yo'Heinz Tyler was a 247Sports three-star recruit that joined Ball State as a member of their 2018 recruiting class. As a true freshman, he played in seven games and finished fourth on the team in receiving yards (226). His numbers improved the following season, but still finished fourth in receptions (27) and receiving yards (504). He did score five touchdowns, one off from the leader.
In 2021, Tyler finished second in receptions (42) and receiving yards (607), but led the MAC with eight receiving touchdowns; the rest of the team combined for nine receiving touchdowns. This would be the peak for Tyler as he finished third on the team in receptions (49) and receiving yards (487) the following season, but led the team in touchdowns (6). As a super-senior in 2022, he again finished as the third option and only found the end zone once. He finished his Ball State career eighth in receptions (181), eighth in receiving yards (2265), and fith in receiving touchdowns (22).
