Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton has announced that Bo Nix will start at quarterback week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks.
After being drafted 12th overall, Bo Nix is set to be the quarterback of the future for the Denver Broncos. Nix joined a quarterback room with Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson after the Broncos moved on from Russell Wilson this past offseason, and he has officially won the starting job. He showed promise in his first two preseason games completing 23/30 passes for 205 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. In comparison, Stidham led six drives this preseason producing one touchdown for the team and throwing two interceptions.
Sean Payton’s offense seems to be a nice fit for Nix as he excels in getting the ball out quickly, drawing some comparison to how Payton ran offenses with Drew Brees at the helm. Nix is a sure starter in superflex leagues and has QB2 upside in redraft. The Broncos look to be a struggling team this year which could provide passing game scripts for Nix. For dynasty managers, Nix being named the starter is huge for his development. It would have been extremely concerning had he not been able to beat out Stidham. Nix does have age concerns as a 24 year old rookie, but starting right away definitely dampens those concerns.

Lisa Wilson expressed her excitement on social media after her son Zach was traded to the Denver Broncos on Monday. On her Instagram, Wilson posted “Excited for a fresh new start. Let’s go!” after hearing the news of her son being traded. The Jets are trading their former first round pick to the Broncos in exchange for 2024 late-round pick swap. The New York Jets receive a sixth-round pick, while Denver will receive a seventh-round pick in return, along with Wilson.
In 2023, Wilson started 11 games with the Jets passing for 2271 yards, 8 touchdowns, 6 interceptions and completed 60% of his passes. He now joins the Broncos QB room that consists of Jarrett Stidham and Ben DeNucci. The Broncos are likely still looking to add their franchise quarterback in this year’s draft, however, adding Wilson allows them to take a chance on a former first round pick.
The New York Jets announced that Tim Boyle will start against the Miami Dolphins on Friday.
The Jets have finally seen enough of Zach Wilson as the starter, and have decided to start Tim Boyle against Miami on Black Friday Football. With Wilson under center, the Jets offense has been spinning their wheels in mud and just not going anywhere. Wilson was even demoted to third-stringer as the Jets signed Trevor Siemian to the active roster from their practice squad.
The last time Boyle was a starter in the NFL he was with Lions two years ago. In 2021 with the Lions, Boyle accumulated 526 yards with three touchdowns and six interceptions. Boyle’s main objective will be to get the ball to Garrett Wilson, hand the to Breece Hall, don’t turn the ball over, and get out of the way. Boyle is not guaranteed any other starts after Friday.
With Siemian being signed to the main roster, Boyle will be on a short leash. Siemian has more experience as a starter and should be starting soon enough for the Jets if Boyle struggles under center. Either way, both quarterbacks are a bridge gap until Aaron Rodgers tries to return to the team by season’s end. One thing is for sure Wilson may have seen his last days as a starter for the Jets.
The New York Jets signed 31-year-old veteran QB Trevor Siemian, pending a physical.
Hopes for the Jets were sky-high entering the 2023 season only to be immediately dashed when Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles after four snaps, sending the team into an immediate tailspin. The signing’s an obvious response to the anemic play of an offense currently dead last in points, plays, and yards per game. Just one day after assuring the media that Zach Wilson was the team’s “unquestioned starter” the Jets signed Trevor Siemian and his 220 career pass attempts off the street. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
Trevor Siemian was last relevant for the Saints in 2021 posting a 108/1154/11/3 line with an 88.4 passer rating and 6.1 yards per attempt. It’s unclear if and when Siemian will play, but it’s hard to argue there’s more than one direction for this dysfunctional Jet offense to go; they are currently 34th or worse in terms of quarterback EPA/play, completion rate, passer rating, and yards per attempt.
The New York Jets will start Zach Wilson at quarterback in the Hall of Fame game vs the Cleveland Browns.
The New York Jets plan to sit all of their starters, including Aaron Rodgers, in the Hall of Fame Game. Zach Wilson has the inside track to the backup job and will look to shine after a brutal year in 2022.
Former Green Bay Packer Tim Boyle is technically competing with Wilson, though he hasn’t looked the part in camp so far. Boyle and Chris Streveler, who Wilson was benched for in a loss to the Jaguars on Thursday Night Football, will also see action.
